Today we’re celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary
This is a really important day for me because four years ago I didn’t know if Larry and I were going to be here
It just makes me think about how we take things for granted, and how we especially take our spouses for granted.
We made some plans to go out and I realized, I put more effort into going out with my girlfriends than I do going out with my husband
So, this morning I decided to book myself a blowout and get my makeup done and get myself ready, not because I have to win him over, not because I have to impress him, but because I want to put the effort into my marriage
I know that I put effort into going out with my friends, so I want to put that much effort or more into date night with my husband
These last couple of years, we’ve made weekly quality time mandatory, and I can’t express how that has really made an impact on our marriage
(Especially after being married this long)
If you’ve been married for a few years and life is starting to become routine,
I want to encourage you to put effort into spicing things up, whatever that means to you…
get a blowout …buy a new dress…or just shave your legs 😄
It’s not about impressing anyone, or about being something you’re not
It’s about getting excited to spend time with the person you chose to love and making it extra special
